The encounter, and reason for forming a band togetherAfter the broke up of COATZ, Kuroda started Solo. While making his original music, he was considering about spicing up his arrangements and the performances, and the first well-qualified person came to his mind was Shishikura, who he knew already through the office. Making up his mind and Kuroda rang Shishikura’s cell phone was the first step of forming the rockwell. Even Shishikura quickly hit it off with him by being Kuroda’s support guitarist. Shishikura took the offer from Kuroda to do something together in the orderly fashion, and officially started as "rockwell" in 2005. The origin of the name “rockwell”Names by the guitarist Shishikura. While he was in the artistically oriented vocational high school, he learned about an artist, Norman Rockwell(February 3rd, 1894~November 8th, 1978). Since then, his realistic and soft but sharp cut works had always kept in his mind. All the more reason, when they formed the band in 2005, it was natural to choose it as the name. The nature of his art as being pop, but also having the universality like making the viewers feel the joy, anger, humor and pathos of life respectively, linked with the music they seek; and also it fit well with the image from the implications of “massive Rock” came exactly. Although it is a digression, even now, the replica of "THE RUNAWAY" is posted on the wall in a room of the Shishikura's parents' home in Sapporo. |
